Farm-to-Rim Walking Safari

The Gibb’s Farms’ Farm-to-Rim Walking Safari takes you off the beaten path for a wonderful wilderness experience only possible by leaving the vehicle and striking out on foot. Up front, the 6-7 hour hike occurs on a path cleared every season by the farm naturists – few have the opportunity to hike the Ngorongoro Forest Highlands this intimately. You will be accompanied by a naturalist from Gibb’s Farm as well as a ranger from Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Walkers may encounter, cape buffalo, bush pig and a number of other animals along the way through a forest of plant and tree life. With over 200 species on the Gibb’s Farm bird list you are bound so see an abundance of birds.
The walking safari starts at Gibb’s Farm at 1700 meters or 5500 ft. above sea level. We hike to the rim of Ngorongoro Crater which lies at 2300 meters or 7500 ft. Due to the altitude and duration, the hikers should be in good physical condition.
